3/26/2011 Sacramento – Banh Cuon Tay Ho

Today decided to pamper myself a little bit… want to have a mini getaway trip. felt like some Vietnamese food… so this is the one I chose~

Banh Cuon Tay Ho

6840 65th St
Ste 125
Sacramento, CA 95823

(916) 395-1188

Honestly, I didn’t like the menu color that much… but it is just a menu.
haha…didn’t know san jose has one. =)

Love the menu with pictures!!!

typical Vietnamese restaurant table setting.

I heard this is their “special” fish sauce. First I thought that’s some kind juice. LOL…

the special fish sauce + some chili sauce = GREAT YUMMY Sauce

Love this. some kind of cold entree with everything you need. it is a very good portion when you want something light. mix with the special sauce we add above, pretty YUMMY.. at least it is something different. there are many different kind of dishes in Vietnam. Vietnamese food is not only Pho.

but… I am very disappointing with their PHO… I can make better than that. the soup taste super sweet. i thought i was having dessert Pho. haha…

I will give a C+. everything was good beside the Pho. -_-”

Mexican Snacks

Did you even see any Amigos (Mexican men) push the glasses cart around your neighborhood or on the street? did you ever buy those snacks? I love those snacks!

I don’t know what is the name for those snack, but i usually but one bag of those orange “chips” for around $1. you can add tabasco and lemon juice, but i usually add nothing.

the second snack i will buy from those cart is the corn. you can add some white yellow sauce, cheese powder, and Tabasco if you want. price is around $2.

During summer, they will have shave ice. =)

don’t be afraid to buy those snacks. they are very good snacks. so don’t be shy =)

Yum Yum~

I found this place because they have the Mille Crepe Cake, but you only can get it before 5pm. this is my 2nd time go there, and it is my first time really eat there. It is locate at SF Japan Town. nice place with good food!.

I really like the menu has pictures on. sometimes it is hard for me to understand what are those japanese name mean. =)

this is their dessert menu. ask them for it.  price is reasonable. i really like their mille crepe cake and the souffle cheesecake, but i prefer the regular crepe cake more than the cappuccino one.

pork cutlet with rice and soup. looks very nice and decent.

I love chicken! i really like this terriyaki chicken. it taste so good and warm.

Dragon roll. looks normal. didn’t have big surprise about it.

chicken skew! totally in love with it. I can’t stop myself keep eating it. hehe…

Dessert time! cappuccino mille crepe cake! the sauce and the fruits taste very good. sweet but not over. the crepe cake is not too sweet. you will love it if you like crepe. not many place can find crepe cake in bay area. you should try if you have a chance. =)

Trying something new at Palo Alto Downtown

I went to Palo Alto couples times before. I saw many Greek and Mediterranean restaurant there. We never really try Greek and Mediterranean food, so Thur We decided try something new~ Let’s GO!

1st place: Baklava

445 Emerson St
Palo Alto, CA 94301

(650) 323-6543

I made the reservation at yelp, but it was not pack at all. No wait time, but it took us awhile to find a parking last night.
Staffs there were very friendly and nice. they didn’t try to sell anything which it is something that i appreciate most.

The menu is simple and clean. Easy to read!

Really love their breads especially the sauce. very special and delicious. it is better than the bread that you have in the american restaurant.

We chose this as appetizer. The muscle fill with special rice. Very yummy. not heavy and oily at all.

I don’t see many seafood or chicken in the menu. most of them are Beef and Lamb. I order the prawn with vegetable and the creek rice. very fresh and light. love it!

this is beef and lamb over rice. it was ok. the meat was too salty. it also came with a special sauce which looks like ranch. but the sauce taste very light and fresh, not cheesy at all which was surprising.

now they open till 12am!

Heart shape Cappuccino! it taste very good… much better than starbucks for sure.

this is a Strawberry drink. looks very nice, but i am pretty sure the alcohol was pretty high.

it was 9pm, but seems like most of cake are gone. I was too full, so didn’t have a chance to try one. but they look pretty good.

There are many type of chinese food. Wonton house serve the Cantonese style chinese food. price is very reasonable. I saw many people call in for take out. This place is good for family, kids, and couples.
Somehow my friend loves their chili sauce. the owner said this is the home made chili sauce. I am not a fan of chili, so maybe you can try yourself.
Menu! they open till 12am which is pretty good for late supper. price is decent.
they have the special combo. $7.95 serve for one person. you can get the traditional clay pot rice with vegie, or you can get porridge. perfect for one person portion.
\\place looks average. it looks more like a Pho place. i guess because the owner is a chinese vietnamese. she is very nice and friendly.
BBQ duck & BBQ pork over noodle.
their special chow fun.

This location is definitely bigger than the 1st boiling crab which locate at East San Jose. Many TVs and tables.

Menu is simple and clear.

Tips 1: you need a lot of paper towels. so get it ready before the food come.

Tips 2: free refill drinks, but they charge about 50 cents for water.

Tips 3: Get the bib ready if you don’t want stain on your shirt.

Tips 4: I heard everything is fresh except shrimp. I love crawfish a lot… but sometimes they have different size in different season.

Tips 5: Best sauce is whole sha-bang. If you can’t take the spicy food, please order mild.

Tips 6: Personally I love their Cajun chicken wings and Fries!

** this is my first time order lobster here. I think I like Crabs more.

Tips 7: Not recommend do the take out because it won’t taste as good as you dine in.
